Well this is what happens when kittens get hold of your computer i was sitting out in my yard this morning with my computer when i got a phone call and i walked away from my computer when i got back the kittens were surfing the web not only that they some how opened and began posting this blog!!!!oh yeah they also were able to disabled the right hand side of my keyboard. Kim swears it is part of the ultimate feline plan for cats to dominate the world. this is the diary of one oppressed feline. Enjoy....

Merry Christmas

Well this past weekend I was able to enjoy my Christmas gift from Kim she bought me and the family a ski trip to Snowshoe WV. We had a really great time Spencer is a natural snowboarder and Hannah picked up skiing like she had been doing it all her life Kim had not been on the slopes in ten years but had no problems until day two that is....she caught an edge and did a face plant into an ice patch I think she has a hairline fracture in her left forearm. It is a very pretty shade of purple, x-rays to follow. The last day after skiing was finished and we were all safe and sound and just when we thought it was safe to go into the hallway Spencer walked around the corner and this kid who was running down the hall plowed head first into Spencer's face and busting his lip open and breaking his front tooth in half Spencer's tooth was lodged under the other kids skin near the top of his forehead. Here are some photos of the before the dentist repairs.

this was while he was under the gas mask he was quite the character and in good spirits during the repair process and now you can't hardly tell he broke it.

Although I sometimes forget, ( or choose not to acknowledge), God is always with me. When things are going smooth, He is there. When times get tough, He is there. When my own evil desires entice me and drag me into sin, He is there. From birth to death God has me by the hand and even when I choose to let go,
He is always reaching out to reconnect.

I need to remember not to let the trials in my life tear me down, but to use them to build my confidence in the Lord. The trials (if I choose to let them) will produce wisdom and perseverance (hupomone) which will in turn produce maturity. Though my courage and strength will fail from time to time, I find great comfort in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Knowing that one day I will be raised to a new life, complete and lacking nothing, and then I will be able to serve Him without fault forever. He is my security. Although I might not always be with Him, He is always with me.

James and the 2x4

Well what in the world am i going to talk about now??? Let me tell you. I am in a class in school studying the book of James. The other day we were in chapter three and I'm' telling you what reading through, and really taking what it says to the table for in depth study hurts. (it hurts me anyway) 3:1 Not many of you should presume to be teachers because you know we who teach will be judged more strictly. that v. along perks my ears up because I teach. I usually didn't put much thought into that but if you read on in v.3,4,5 James goes on to describe controlling a large animal by inserting a small bit into its mouth. and steering a large ship by a small rudder. and how a small spark can turn into a devastating inferno causing massive destruction. I knew where this was going because I had read James before and as some of you know, because I have shared with you that I struggle with my language. I kinda fall in line with v.9&10 and if you read on into v.11 it talks of how both salt and fresh water cannot flow from the same spring, a fig tree being unable to produce olives. this got me wondering if this applied to me and my ability to worship God. Can I truly sing to the Lord with the same tongue that i curse Him with? I don't think i curse Him directly but if i am cursing another brother i get from this reading that i am cursing Him. Backing up to ch.1 v.26 if any one considers himself religeous and yet does not keep a tight reigh on his tongue his religion is worthless. is my religion worthless? well after receiving these direct blows to the head from James' 2x4 i had a lot to think about so i thought i would post for yall to think about w/me.

I just read Junior's blog about just do it and it brought to mind a time in my life where I described the way I was living as a three ring circus.

You know acting a certain way around my church friends, another around my work friends, and yet another way around my family. I am not saying that I have a handle on all rings but narrowing my friends down to Christians has almost eliminated one of the rings. I still need to work on how I act around my family mainly because of the comfort level they provide but I am getting better slowly but Shirley.

It so sounds like me at times. I don't know why I am doing what I am doing, it's not what I want to do, for the thing I am doing is the very thing I hate I may not directly hate the thing I am doing specifically, but what I am doing is hurting God and I hate that. v.20 Says that if I do the very thing that I do not wish, that it is no longer me doing it but the sin that dwells within me. Reading this chapter can get a little confusing, but read is slowly, often and to the end because it is v.24, 25 & 8:1 that give us wretched humans victory over the bondage of sin. Amen!

Remember that the pursuit of holiness is never ending in this life it will have its' ups and downs and we will never achieve what God wants us to but He loves us regaurdless and will see us through.

Well we got home from Catylist this morningaround 2a.m. and I got bout 10 hrs. sleep and have now rejoined the living. We had an awsome time and learned quite a bit Ijust hope I can retain and put into practice some of the life lessons shared with us there. Hey out there blogging community wow it's been a while since I've written but I been real busy. CIY was a blast I think everyone of the kids took something important away from the conference and I believe I learned as much as any of them did.

Well thanks for reading my simple minded thoughts this is a pretty cool hobby it forces me to use my brain and yet relaxes me at the same time. Well I thought Id'e explaine the naming of my blog page you see as a child I always wanted a treehouse and although I had a little club house down by the creek and have a lot of great memories of camping out down there a treehouse was what i dreamed of I love to climb trees as far up as i could go and just sit there and feel the tree sway in the breese so anyway when spencer asked me one day if I would build him a treehouse I started thinking and looking at them online and getting plans and ideas for a cool treehouse for "him and hannah" thoes of you who know me you already know i am a collector/dumpster diver/recycler of one mans trash into this mans treasure. so i had enough stuff sitting around here to get started but I know nothing when it comes to carpentry but my dad was on vacation so i winged it and got started(after a few phonecalls to him for pointers)

Before long I was well on my way to what some call my second home. when dad got home he came to help and he couldent believe .....well he couldent believe a lot of things like why are their no square corners?,where are the leg supports?,why is this thing swayin when we walk?, and why is this thing sooo BIG!?

any way long story short I was building a treehouse for Me....

AND the kids and I sleep in it just as much as they do!

1st Solo THRIVE

Well I did it with the help of God I made it through my first solo lesson at THRIVE. It was exciting and nerve racking at the same time but most of all it was a blessing! It was a great format for getting my feet wet in the preaching "arena". I had a lot of fun doing it. One of the best parts is that my neighbors from my childhood home in Palmyra were there. Why is that a big deal? you might ask, well lemme tell ya growing up I was THAT kid you know the one who was always a hand full!! and everyone had "trouble getting" to pay attention and get out from under the table. For them to see me in this role just reaffirms their belief in miracles!!

Well here goes nothing it's my first entry into the blogging world. The first thing I should tell you is that I have never won a spelling bee (never even made it past the first round). As a matter of fact
I often spell words like they sound (go figure) just because I can. Sometimes I am a little lisdexic and my grammar needs help and.........oh yeah I never did get no really good grades in English.
now that thats out of the way no one needs to comment on my poor writing. and as long as you don't mind stumbling through my stories WELCOME and ENJOY.
